Located 26 kilometres east of Heraklion is the small town of Hersonissos. As one of the most developed resorts on Crete, Hersonissos features an abundance of hotels, bars, restaurants and nightclubs. Those seeking traditional cuisine can explore the narrow old streets behind the strip, in which you will find local Greek tavernas. There are also four nightclubs to keep the most energetic entertained till the early hours.
